As I made my west on U.S. 60, I decided to go up AZ 189 and see the area around Theodore Roosevelt Lake. Everything seems to be named after him: the lake, the dam, the bridge, and possibly even the sunset.
The funny thing is, I traveled by here over 25 years ago and I don’t remember the dam. But as the old power station at the bottom seems to be, the dam has been there for a long time. According to an information sign, they did enlarge the dam since I was there the first time. It used to only go as high as the layer of rock near the center of the picture.

wow! Beautiful!
It was a beautiful trip with gorgeous weather! 🙂 I’m really glad I made the trip. It was difficult to get motivated to go because winter makes me want to stick close to home. But once I was out on the open road with the tunes cranked up, I was glad. 🙂
